following on from my last post...

last night was definitely not the night.

it wasn't a total bust.

my friends do rock.

they just would've rocked more if they'd actually made it out haha

i went back to my hermit-esque tendencies and took some photos

i found the best 2nd hand bookstore. i'm in loooove

i've been rather hermit-esque of late.

well...

if you don't include the night at the pub with the work gals

where I got tapped on the shoulder by Security.

the night with many 'blanks'

where I woke up at 1pm the next day

luckily sleeping through (and) avoiding a hangover of any description.

but honestly i have been a hermit.

taking photos

spending long hours attached to my Mac, either photoshopping photos I've taken, or checking out peoples blogs.

sending random people postcards.

and reading my way through my increasingly growing, second hand (pre loved) book collection.

(my favourite one so far this year being "The Book Thief".... seriously read it. wow)

so I've decided...

i need a night out. i'm not sure if tonight's the night. we'll see.

i feel like drinking and dancing and getting home as the sun is coming up.

oh and meeting a nice boy (a nice good looking boy).... hey just putting it out there...

on another note.

its my friend Shan's birthday today

we had a long breaky to celebrate, with cupcakes for dessert. yummm

so as it turned out the last day of summer was a bit of a fizzer.

it rained.

but still, it was a good day.

i got to hang with my sister. we did absolutely nothing together all day.

she's pretty raaadd.

so this weekend I learnt...

i've lost all respect for my boss. (she's a looney)

my friends are ah-mazing.

haha I almost forgot.

yesterday I got one of my rings stuck on my middle finger.

i'd worn it out the night before, and forget to take it off before I went to bed.

so i woke up to find it absolutely glued to my finger and for the life of me couldn't get it off.

i started to panic.

and what do I do when I panic?

i call my dad!

so the phone call goes something like this...

me "DAD, hi. it's me. umm I have a ring stuck on my finger and you have to cut it off. it hurts. it's turning purple... well maybe not purple. but red. it's definitely red. it won't come off. i've tried. you have to cut it off!"

dad "woooaaa back up. what's stuck on your finger?"

me "a ring. a ring is stuck on my finger. you have to cut it off."

dad "ok. ok. calm down. come over. i'll take a look. and we'll go from there. it's not bad enough that you should go to a doctors or hospital?"

me "hospital??? you think I have to go to hospital"

(panic panic panic)

dad "no, that's not what I said. just come over. I'm sure it'll be ok. i'll see you soon."

me "oh ok. yeah I'll see you soon..."

soooooooo anyway. long story short. the ring came off. eventually. after wrapping it in an ice pack. and then drenching my finger in olive oil. and a lot of twisting and pulling. and swear words.

it came off.

so I woke up this Valentine's Day morning and went to grab my phone from my handbag,

only to find a giant chocolate freckle hiding in there!

(naturally I had some for breakfast!)

of course I immediately realized that the instigator of this was either my mum or dad, since I had been over at their house the night before!
(+they are just too cute)

so to find out the perpetrator
(and to say a big thank you of course)

I sent mum this short text:

"I found my giant freckle was it u or dad? U rockkk!"

she replied:

"Didnt know it was missing!"

me:

"HA HA ur hilarious! I loooove u"

mum:

"Luv u 2"

I love my mum. she has style and a quirky sense of humor.
we get each other. we fight like cats and dogs.
we are the best of friends.

today I am celebrating my 1 year Anniversary

single life

sweet disposition...

i can't get The Temper Trap's song, Sweet Disposition out of my head. every time I sing the lyrics, images pop into my head too. i've had these images running through my mind for weeks. and finally I've got them out. ahhhhhhhhhh.

yesterday I finally bought myself a canon printer. i love that now my designs seem real, instead of just ideas saved on a file somewhere in my Mac, that never really seem to come to life.

the very first image I printed off went straight on the fridge. not my fridge that is. but the fridge of a bunch of my friends with whom I used to flat. with my presence (I'm sure) sadly missed, I decided that I would leave them with a final image of myself, so that every time the fridge door opens, and they reach for the milk, they can think back and reflect on the fun times we shared.

yup.

i'm sure I'm sadly missed.

after playing around with a bunch of photos I'd taken of friends on Australia Day, I decided to post them on fb. and was happily surprised when I kept receiving notices telling me that my photos were being used as peoples profile pics.

but my fav response by far was off my friend Chinny, who texted me saying

"I like that hobo looking shot u tagged me in haha"

my response being

"I made u look cool n edgy. I'm a genius behind the camera."

to which he replied

"You are...... Shud frame it"

must say. I was rather chuffed. hahaha

hobo was not the look I was going for. was it?
